The gateone project is an innovation action under the Horizon 2020 program.

It is part of the Smart Anything Everywhere initiative and our goal is the adoption of Smart Technologies and Smart Systems by SME.

Gateone Vision: Smartization is a huge innovation opportunity for SME.

The “smartisation” of Europe is in progress. Smartisation means sensors and integration of intelligence in conventional products with an additional layer of connectivity. The digitisation of our life is more than a trend, it is a need. It will help to improve Health, Safety and security, it will increase Productivity and make a better use of our resources in a search for Sustainability. These are challenges for our society, but also business drivers and a huge opportunity for SME.

Gateone Mission: Adoption of smart systems by SME.

The smartization of Europe is important to face many challenges: health, safety and security, productivity and sustainability. Like many challenge this is also a huge business opportunity. In 2020, the global market for Internet of Things is predicted to be 54B€ for hardware alone (Source Yole Development) and will address all the possible business verticals.
GateOne ambition is to generate a sustainable venturi effect for smart systems solutions adoption by European SMEs which can become actors in the European competitiveness.

Gateone Strategy : Initiate the innovation cycle between SMEs and Research and Technology Organisation.

In gateone, 8 European Research and Technology Organizations adopt a common process to reduce the risk associated with the adoption of new technologies. Inspired from industry standards for product development, in partnership with SMEs, this process aims to reach the first gate of innovation.

How gateone helps ?

The starting point is Gate zero, with a portfolio of more than 200 ideas or use case. These use cases are supported by advanced state of the art technologies selected for their differentiation, IP and maturity. Our offer is to work with SME to consolidate a business case and develop the necessary demonstration for a “hands-on” experience of the technology. This partnership is free of charge for the SMEs, no investment and no bind attached.

Our action started in January 2015 and will last for 3 years during which, up to 50 demonstrators will be developed. For information on the portfolio and participate to the action: register here.
